I’ve been back in Mornington, Victoria for a couple of weeks now and we have been making lists and packing up a few things, taking a few things to the tip and to charity shops. We needed to do some cleanup anyway.  We already have a couple of quotes for the move which gives us an idea of just how much we need to downsize. The contract on the property in Legana went unconditional today. There were a couple of issues on the building inspection but nothing major, just normal wear and tear for a building of that age so I think we can live with it. There was also a plumbing certificate missing for the shade house at the front, but that’s also something we deal with if we have to.
As of today we have building insurance on the property, both vehicles booked on the Spirit of Tasmania for November 30, and one night at the Tamar River Villas in Riverside, Tasmania. We will get one of the movers booked, it looks like they would come around November 27. We need to get this organised as they also need a spot on the Spirit or another vessel.
We still have to organise the changeover of utilities and internet, get our mail redirected, change addresses closer to our move date. We also have to get the funds out of our retirement and into the real estate trust account ahead of the property settlement, but I already have the paperwork here for that.
I’m going to call Monday and give notice on our rental, we hope we can get out of the last few months of the lease without too many hassles.
We can’t take anything flammable in the container like aerosols, paint, etc. and because of bio-security no plants, so lots to give away, take to the recycle/recovery, or sell.
Around 40 days before the movers come, lots to do, very exciting!
