We have decided to pack up most of the stuff ourselves to save quite a bit of money, and its turning out to be a real chore. I can see why rich people just pay someone to do all of this, but I suppose it will be worth it in the end. Move day is now November 25, and our lovely neighbour Marcia has given us her place to stay for the few days after that, she usually only comes down from Melbourne on the weekends anyway. This will give us a chance to do all the cleaning next door. Marcia is also going to take most of our potted plants and even insisted on paying us for them, which was too kind. We will miss living next door to such wonderful neighbours, Marcia, June, and Renee. We got off lightly with the lease, it turns out the owner wants to put the place on the market, and there are some repairs and painting that need to be done as well. No extra penalty, and we will probably get our entire bond back. Things are going well at this stage.
We have all the settlement funds in the conveyancer’s trust account now, and I want to check on Monday at the gym to see if there is anything we can redeem our points for. There is an Anytime Fitness over in Launceston that I checked out when I was there in October, and we will probably just keep our membership till it runs out in June, we would lose too much by cancelling, and we can still have access to all the online stuff. There are still some issues with Telstra transferring the service over, but we have set up the water and electricity accounts over in Tasmania and organised final reads for water, gas, and electricity here.
We are packing up 6 or 7 boxes a day , buying heavy duty boxes from Bunnings, and picking some others up on Gumtree. The movers say they will bring some extra  if we need them at the end.
The townhouse is starting to look a bit of a mess, but progress is being made.
