Finally back up in Launceston, we are supposed to meet the estate agent at the property at 12:30, then after a brief pre-settlement inspection, and assuming everything is OK, we contact the conveyancer, the deal is done, and the agent hands us the keys.
In yet another stuff up, the real estate agent didn’t pick up all they keys from the conveyancer, so we can’t get into the annex or the big shed. The conveyancer gives the real estate agent a serve over the phone, she has to go all the way back into Launceston to pick up the keys while we twiddle our thumbs having a coffee up at the Legana shopping centre. Finally, just after 2:00 PM on Friday the 13th, December 2019 the place belongs to us. It’s been a tough couple of weeks and we having been trying hard not to let it get to us.
At least now we have a roof over out heads, water, electricity, and a refrigerator. We have a bit of stuff in Eva’s hatchback to unload, then it’s a short trip up to www.storeitherelegana.com.au/ to pick up my station wagon with all the rest of the stuff that will allow us to survive till our containers are delivered next Tuesday.
A few groceries from Woolworths in Legana, a quick trip to Bunnings for a patio table and chairs, and we are living the life.
