Almost 2 weeks since all our stuff was delivered, and we are still unpacking. Given that it took us over a month to pack it all up in Victoria, we are just taking our time and getting everything where we want it. With all my tools now here, I was able to knock a hole in the wall between the front door and the patio, and we have a gate we bought from Bunnings that is going in the hole. It was so annoying having to walk all the way around on the driveway between the front and back doors, and now we can just go out the sliding door, through the gate, and up to the shed to take the empty boxes.
We bought a small turkey at Woolworths and cooked it on the little BBQ, and had that with some potatoes and vegetables. There is enough leftovers to last the two of us through to the new year.
What I did before leaving Mornington was to take my two 9 kg gas cylinders to Bunnings as if to do a refill/exchange, but instead of getting one, I got an interstate refill voucher. You surrender them at Bunnings in one state, and pay for and pick up the refills in another state. They wouldn’t take them in the container, and it would have been a big hassle taking them on the ferry.
I have fired up our lawn tractor and driven it around a bit, seems to run OK. Haven’t done any mowing yet, but did download a manual for it . I’m also thinking of getting a small mower to do the areas around the house where you can’t use it.
Apart from the stuff we are buying for ourselves, because we need them here, our Anytime Fitness hoodies arrived, just in time for Christmas! Thanks Zoey and James.
