A big Antarctic low pressure system coming up from the South this week, and we have been expecting some cold nights. We woke up this morning and we were in a winter wonderland, snow covered the entire property. This is the most snow here since the early 1970’s, and the last time there was a snowfall of this magnitude was 1921, but stuff has really been happening since we decided to move. I decided to go out early and get a few nice snaps.
As I wandered around it was not as nice as I first thought. It was actually total devastation. The thick, wet snow had partially frozen as it fell, building up on the branches of the trees and snapping them off everywhere. the entire property where I had been trimming and cleaning up over the past 6 months was a complete mess. Everywhere I look their is damage, even in smaller shrubs. It will take me months to clean this up. Some of the neighbouring properties look even worse than ours.
