I nearly have the garden put back together, the new layout with the path around the outside is done, the beds in the lower part are realigned, and all the rest are basically ready to go. I fixed up the trellises where the passion fruit and grape vine are, and I have added some old tyres with the sidewalls cut out to create smaller beds where I could have a single zucchini or tomato plant.  I will process a few of the old tyres that are stacked up behind the shed for more of these. I have five but I want at least 10. The two lower beds are planted out with three types of beetroot, red, yellow, and pinwheel for Eva to preserve later, and I also have carrot, red onion, and two varieties of radish. I would like to get the tyre beds finished and planted out before I decide on what goes in the other beds, but we still have spinach and lettuce going. I would like to get some Okra going, and maybe try some pumpkin. and maybe a couple of potato.

I’m still doing a bit of mowing, managed to get the lower part of the back paddock done and some around the house, but then we had another 16 mm of rain so everything is pretty wet. I would like it to dry out just a bit so I can get all that taken care of and also spray some of the weeds that are going crazy. I have been pulling a few up with the weed puller, but there are just too many.  I think I will eventually get caught up, and also get started on a new chicken coop.

We still have the Covid-19 Delta outbreaks over on the mainland in Victoria and New South Wales, but Queensland seems to have beaten it. Our neighbour Patrick has just gone up there for 3 weeks to see family, and should be able to come back to Tasmania OK. We have had one case here last week, a 15 yo boy whose family somehow had the connections to get him over from Victoria. Instead of isolating at home like he was supposed to, his cousin came over to visit, then they both went down to the local supermarket, maskless.  So far there have been no more associated cases but they are still testing and hundreds have been forced to isolate and wait for test results, etc.

Here are a few photos of the garden works, etc.
